Steps is operated by WeLoveOurHomes.com, LLC, located in Houston, Texas, United States. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and retain information when you use Steps.

We may collect:

• account information such as name, email address, user ID, and authentication records;
• prompts, source text, URLs, documents, guide edits, saved guides, public guides, feedback, and generated content;
• subscription status, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, billing status, and transaction metadata;
• device, browser, IP address, session identifiers, page activity, usage events, error logs, and approximate location derived from an IP address;
• communications and support requests.

We do not intend to store complete payment-card details. Stripe processes payment information under its own privacy terms.

We use information to:

• provide, personalize, and operate Steps;
• generate and display instructional guides and illustrations;
• authenticate users and secure accounts;
• save, publish, export, and share guides;
• process subscriptions and enforce usage limits;
• detect fraud, misuse, security threats, and technical problems;
• enforce monthly guide allowances using a long-lived anonymous browser cookie, session identifiers, and cryptographically hashed IP-address signals; raw IP addresses are not stored in the monthly guide allowance record;
• measure performance and improve the service;
• respond to support and legal requests;
• comply with legal obligations.

Prompts and source material may be sent to AI service providers to generate guides, summaries, narration text, and illustrations. Avoid submitting sensitive, confidential, regulated, or proprietary information unless you are authorized and comfortable having it processed for these purposes.

We may use service providers for infrastructure, authentication, database hosting, storage, AI generation, image generation, analytics, error monitoring, email, payment processing, and website hosting. These may include Supabase, Lovable, Stripe, Vercel, Cloudflare, and AI model providers.

Providers process information under their own agreements and privacy practices and may process information in the United States or other countries.

We may disclose information:

• to service providers performing services for Steps;
• when you publish or intentionally share a guide;
• to comply with law or valid legal process;
• to protect rights, safety, property, users, or the service;
• in connection with a merger, financing, sale, reorganization, or transfer of the business;
• with your direction or consent.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not knowingly use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Information included in a public guide may be viewed, copied, or shared by others. Remove personal, confidential, and sensitive information before publishing.

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Steps, maintain records, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and comply with law.

Some information may remain in backups, security logs, transaction records, or records required by law after an account or guide is deleted.
